Conserving water sources and wetlands

The water source and watershed conservation program, which will operate as a major development initiative in 2026, is a program implemented based on the water resources in sensitive environmental zones within the areas where development programs are carried out.

Water in water sources that have been severely damaged due to human activities has become highly polluted and contaminated.

The water sources have a very low capacity because the surrounding cover has been cleared, and in some places, they have been chopped down with scattered debris. To minimize this situation, the goal here is to use the provisions received from the central treasury to conserve these water sources.

It is also planned to conserve 41 water sources identified within the areas where the authority’s development programs are active, and to implement a tree planting program to conserve water catchment areas. Under this plan, the target is to plant 20,000 water-friendly saplings.
