Under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Land, and Irrigation, the Sri Lanka Mahaweli Authority conducted a pig conservation training program and a technical training program on backyard farming under the pig conservation program implemented in 2026. These programs were successfully held on 2026-05-21 in the Galgama Grama Niladhari Division of the Yatawatta Divisional Secretariat in the Matale District, with the participation of the Divisional Secretary of the assigned division, the officer of the Agricultural and Livestock Development Authority, the Land Utilization Officer of the Yatawatta Divisional Secretariat, Agricultural Development Officers, and Area Officer Mrs. Shalika Gamalath.
