Tree Planting Program – Aranayaka Divisional Secretariat Division
In line with National Environment Week, a tree planting program was carried out on June 10, 2026, on both sides of the small Oya irrigation reservoir in the Hathgampala Grama Niladhari area of the Aranayaka Divisional Secretariat Division. Under this program:
– Cinnamon saplings – 100
– Bee honey saplings – 75
– Battedoba saplings – 05
were planted.

For this program, representatives from the Divisional Political Authority, Development Officers from the Agriculture Department of Aranayaka Divisional Secretariat, Divisional Development Officers, Assistant Officers for Agricultural Research and Production, and local residents participated.

The program was organized by Regional Officer Athula Seneviratne and Unit Manager Tharanga Surveera.
