Under the 2026 Development Program implemented by the Sri Lanka Land Authority, a technical training program on compost preservation and home gardening was held recently at Alugolla Al-Ashaar Muslim School in the Alugolla Grama Niladhari Division of Welimada in the Badulla District. During this program, special points were made clear regarding the importance of compost preservation and the massive damage caused by compost-eating pests.

The program was attended by the school principal and teaching staff, children and parents from the division, respected local council members, Regional Officer Jan Bogoda, and Unit Manager Samith Samarakoon.
