Under the National Environment Week organized by the Sri Lanka Land Authority, a tree planting program was implemented on 2026-06-04 at the banks of the Meda Ela minor water channel in the Debathgama Pallebage Grama Niladhari division of the Aranayake Divisional Secretariat. Under this program, 50 Kumbuk saplings, 45 Mee saplings, and 5 Kaluwara saplings were planted.

For this purpose, development officers from the Agriculture Division of the Aranayake Divisional Secretariat, youth service officers, and local residents participated.

The program was organized by Regional Officer Athula Seneviratne and Unit Manager Taranga Suraveera.
